Serica Energy Bruce Platform Mount Everest Challenge

Bruce Mount Everest Challenge · 14 April 2020
At the start of my trip offshore I set myself the challenge of ascending the 29,029 feet elevation of Mount Everest on the Serica Energy Bruce Platform stairs. Initially this was for exercise due to the gym being out of action.
Only complete trips from level 1 to the weather deck are included. No inbetweenies or stairs climbed for my day to day work are counted.
Due to Brian Langton's generosity, peer pressure and word of mouth I
started to receive donations towards NHS Charities Trust for the fight against COVID-19 in the UK.
I realise many people have donated already to charities during the crisis. I’m not really the type for pedalling attention seeking behaviour but feel I must give it a peedie push!
Mount Everest - 29,029 feet from sea level
Bruce – 123 feet from Level 1 to Weather Deck
242 trips up the platform
Approx. 42,399 stairs climbed by end of day 21
Equivalent to 27.2 times up the Empire State Building.
All in full PPE (Boilersuit, steel toe boots, etc.)
Any little amount given very much appreciated. FEEL FREE TO
SHARE!!
Cheers
