My church family, St. Mary's, Westerham, Kent, supports Revd Pat Blanchard, our Church Mission Society Partner, in her leadership role at the Shalom Church and Rehabilitation Centre for children and adults with disabilities, and their families in Lima, Peru. Shalom Church and Centre is located in one of the very poorest areas of Lima where Pat made a commitment to serve, share and live each day alongside some of the poorest disadvantaged people in Peru. We know she has made a great difference to the lives of many children and adults over the 22 years she has ministered there. She currently supports over 100 children with a variety of disabilities, and their families. Covid19 and variants are still hitting hard in Peru, especially in the poorest areas where social distancing is very difficult. Pat is doing everything she possibly can to help, but she still needs our financial help. I enjoy walking, but my two day pilgrimage from St Mary's, Westerham along the Greensand Way to St Mary's Benedictine Abbey, West Malling, a distance of 20 miles, will still present challenges for me.
