Story
Please can I ask that you spare a moment of your time to read something that is so very close to my heart.
5 weeks ago our world was turned upside down when my dad got the news that his cancer had spread and was incurable.
In recent weeks I have had first hand experience of the truly amazing care and support that Rowcroft Hospice offer.
Rowcroft Hospice supports adults living with life-limiting illnesses in South Devon. They are a small charity and the vast amount of their funding comes from the incredible generosity of the local community.
Rowcroft are dedicated to making every day the best day possible for those who are living with a life-limiting illness, providing care and support to families coping with the hardest days.
They offer support for relatives in the form of counselling, bereavement support and complementary therapies- all free of charge.
Rowcroft Hospice provided care for my grandad who was supported at home and then subsequently in their beautiful hospice. My dad too, now requiring support from Rowcroft Hospice, has meant that I want to raise money in order to show my gratitude and thanks to a really worthy cause.
The nurses, occupational therapists, doctors and support staff are inspirational. Their patience, humanity, empathy and compassion to not only my dad, but us as a family has been wonderful. I have seen that they genuinely care about making what time people have left, the best it possibly can be and for that I am eternally grateful.
I will be raising money for Rowcroft Hospice by taking part in a 15,000ft sky dive on the 7th October 2021.
Any donation, no matter how small will be very much appreciated. Please help me raise as much money as possible for a truly amazing charity which will always hold a special place in my heart.
