What do you call 5 solicitors embarking on a 70km trek across the Arctic Tundra? Crazy, well, you would be half right...!

Not content with challenges that their everyday lives as lawyers provides, Jackie, Jenna, Jenni, Naiomi and Seonaid are taking on the gruelling challenge of completing a 70km trek from Rovaniemi into the Arctic Circle. Why? Well, it's not because the office have decided to second them there (yet) rather it's in the hope that you lovely people will help them to raise money for Maggie's Cancer Centre.

For three days, the team will be walking through the wilderness in some rather stylish snow shoes, eating local delicacies (we're not sure what that entails either...), sleeping in tents and, fingers crossed, laughing their way through the expedition in temperatures as low as MINUS thirty degrees. To put that into context - makeup and cameras freeze at that temperature. Probably for the best we say!

Throughout, we'll be without many of the things we take for granted: plug sockets - no phone chargers, straighteners or hair driers; make-up - "it's so cold it'll freeze to your face"; and basics like showers and toilets - it doesn't bear thinking about. Although, the lack of home comforts is probably for the best because it will ensure that the team pack light ... there is not a Sherpa in sight, everyone is responsible for pulling their very own pulk!

The ladies are all self-funding the trek because it is, after all, a once in a lifetime experience - we prefer the word "experience" to "holiday" because, who trains for a holiday?! This means that all of the money that is donated by you, their lovely friends and family, goes straight to Maggie's.

Maggie's is a charity that provides invaluable help to those affected by cancer when they need it most. They provide support and advice to anyone that crossed the threshold into one of their centres and they're only able to do this for free with the support from sponsors - sponsors like you!

Just to reiterate - cameras will freeze (!) so don't expect too many photos but we will strive to keep you updated on our adventure and the training using the blog belo.
