Story
Hi guys,
We are the British ParaSnow Sport Development Team and we are competing in the Super Hero Triathlon on August 19th.
The purpose: To raise money for our upcoming ski season.
We are from all walks of life but what brings us together is our love and our passion for ski racing. Although our timelines may differ, we share the same goal, to compete in the Winter Paralympic games and represent our country in a sport that we love so dearly.
The team consists of a number of athletes that are considered disabled in one way or another. From amputee's to visual impairment to rare Genetic conditions. We are not restrictive on situation, we only ask that you show drive and determination to win...and believe us, we don't half have that.
The Super Hero Triathlon is one of the first triathlons of it's kind where you have to identify as being disabled. We thought it would perfect for us to team up and to battle against three gruelling challenges. Swimming, Cycling & Running.
Ski racing is a very costly sport, with many athletes putting their careers on hold, to just dedicate as much time to the sport as is possible to be the very best.
We can spend up too a 100 days on snow a year and that could as be a European resort, American resort or even travelling as far as New Zealand.
We have huge quantities of equipment and clothing, some being specific to the impairment and some more general.
To list but a few:
Skis, Gloves, Helmets, Goggles, boots, sit skis and riggers etc etc
As you can guess, this is not cheap.
So we are asking you, if you can spare a pound to help our dreams come true, please do!
Any amount would be greatly recieved,
Thanks
Amber, Matt, Grace, Alice, James, Josh, Alex & Sophie
