Beating Bowel Cancer cyclists are taking on RideLondon to help live in a world where bowel cancer is beaten

Story

Thanks for having a look at my fundraising page.

I’m not doing the Ride 100 because i believe it is a huge challenge - for a lot of people it is a standard Saturday jaunt. I have signed up because I feel compelled to support a charity supporting the development of treatments for bowel cancers.

Those who know me well know that I lost my dad over 10 years ago to bowel cancer. In that time a lot has changed and survival rates have improved, something I couldn’t be happier to have experienced when someone close to me successfully underwent surgery and treatment for the same diagnosis just months ago. This is becoming a lot more commonplace, but I want it to become the norm.

The standard statistic is that 1 in 3 people know someone who has died from cancer, and what that means to me is that 1 in 3 people want to do what they can to stop others experiencing the same loss.

So in short, I’m not asking you to sponsor me for doing a challenge but I’m asking you to donate to a cause I have felt compelled again to try and raise awareness for.

Thanks,

Simon
