Story
My wonderful husband was diagnosed with Lewy body dementia in 2021. It affects the memory less, but it much more aggressive and life limiting. I'm completing this walk in his memory as he sadly passed away in June this year. He was an inspiration and my hero, never complaining about the challenges he dealt with every day, and our days were filled with as many smiles and much fun and laughter as we could.
Dementia, of which Alzheimer's is a type, is the UKs biggest killer. Someone develops it every three minutes and currently there is no cure. We know it is scary but we must confront the biggest health & social care challenge of our time. We owe it to the 900,000 people across the UK currently living with dementia to campaign for change, whilst providing vital day-to-day support. By taking part and raising money, or donating to someone who is, you are helping to do this.Once you donate, JustGiving sends your money directly to Alzheimer's Society you dont need to do anything and it's the most efficient way to fundraise. So, who will you walk for? #MemoryWalk
