Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. As some of you may know, I considered Lizzie as one my very best friends, and like Terry, Max, Louise and Frances and all of her family and friends, I still feel her loss deeply. However, most importantly I wanted to say a huge thank you to all those who cared for Lizzie during her illness and for allowing Lizzie to die with great dignity and bravery. The words below are written by Lizzie's twin sister, Louise.

Remembering Lizzie

Lizzie was a very special person to all of us who knew and loved her. She was a wonderful sister to Frances and me throughout her life, great company and sense of humour and always ready to share our joys and sorrows. She was a marvellous and dedicated mother to Max and partner to Terry for nearly 40 years. Lizzie had many close friends who will remember her for her unfailing loyalty and sense of fun. She was a talented and creative person who worked tirelessly and was valued for her skills by colleagues and students alike. Music was an important part of Lizzie’s life and her singing brought pleasure to us all.

All her life Lizzie was always a person of great spirit and never was this more apparent than when she was battling cancer. She faced each new challenge with such bravery and good humour. She developed and maintained a very good relationship with the excellent Martlet’s nurses and domiciliary team, all of whom helped make her last months much more comfortable. Lizzie’s bond with her family and friends became even stronger in the final months of her life and it was a privilege to be with her at this time. She will be remembered and missed by us all.  Louise Antheas

I am walking the 200 mile Coast to Coast Walk from St Bees Head in Cumbria to Robin Hoods Bay in North Yorkshire to raise money for the Marie Curie Walk for Life Campaign
