Story
Hiya,
It’s been a couple of years since mum started having memory loss. It’s been 18 months since the brain scan showed the tell tale degradation giving a diagnosis of Dementia.
I’m trying to do what’s best, trying, with help, to do the right things for her, to make the best decisions. Some of the decisions I keep having to tell myself I’ve done what’s best.
Dementia is a thief! It takes and takes little bits here and there, sometimes more. It’s taking Mum.
The people at the Alzheimer’s Society have been helping.
Now I’d like to help them, with your help.
I’m going to run the Brighton Marathon on the 12th September about 16 years since my last one. Older bones and muscles but maybe fitter than ever thanks to the love and support of the Running Punks and the training plans from the lush Jimmy Watkins.
This means more. I can only do so much, I can do this.
If you can give a quid or two that would be ace.
Mum is safe, but mum is struggling, so am I and the family too. We just do what we can.
Thank you
Colin xxxxx
