I'm Bridie, and I'm running for Mind
More than ever before we are opening up about mental health - but it is not enough.
Personally, I have never been diagnosed with a mental health problem, when I feel low going for a run is enough to clear my head - I am lucky.
But SO MANY of my friends have.
Watching people you care about struggle and fight to survive knowing that all you can do is try to be there when they need you can be extremely difficult.
At the end of the day though, I would rather a friend opened up to me than suffered in silence.
Often however, the help someone really needs has to come from a professional - which is why I am running for Norwich and Central Norfolk Mind.
Norwich is a student filled city - University life can heighten anxiety and bring mental health problems to a crisis point.
In academia mental health is often a low priority for busy PhD Students
and lecturers. Outside the University people across Norfolk struggle
with their own personal battles.
Everyone needs somewhere to turn and charities like Mind do incredible work, please help me support them by helping me reach my target of £500.
