Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. To date (November 24th) we have raised £5,457 including cheques, cash and pledges.
Amazingly I finished the walk ......in last place which I guess comes as no surprise!!
If you haven't donated I do hope you will be able to support Leukaemia Research I walked in memory of Mark Hill who sadly died of Leukaemia at the age of just 25 in 1999 having bravely battled the disease for two years. Another friend Graham Pack one of the stewards on the walk had Leukaemia at the same time as Mark but recovered thanks to the expert medical care he received.
One of the people I met on the walk was a mother struggling up a hill with a toddler in a push chair. In chatting to her as I helped her with the push chair (someone else was pushing me) I learnt that the little girl was in remission from Leukaemia and is due to start a second course of chemotherapy later this month. It was very humbling and brought a tear to my eye I can tell you. I met another chap who lost his daughter 10 years ago and has since raised £95,000 on his own.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Leukaemia Research gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So if you haven't already please sponsor me now and add to the hurtful and wounding comments written below by my other friends. You'll never get a better chance to get your own back.... you know it makes sense. Make it £5000 for Leukaemia Research
Many thanks
Brian
