During September 2012 I, along with seven other cycling friends, intend to cycle from Vancouver (Canada) to Mexico. The route is estimated to be over 1900 miles in total with an average daily cycle of 90 miles per day.

Although there is not one defined route for this journey it is an iconic ride with many many challenges on the way. My physical state and mental determination will be severely tested!

I have chosen 'The Cure Parkinson's Trust' in memory of my father-in-law Jim Shepherd who suffered cruelly from Parkinson's. Jim warmed the lives of all who came into contact with him and during his illness never complained - he remained stoic to the end of his life. Jim provided laughter, comfort and support to so many people. As Parkinson's now affects so many lives it seems fitting that I should take on this challenge and raise money for this charity. I am covering all my costs so every penny you donate will go through JustGiving to the Cure Parkinson's Trust.
