St Raphael's Hospice offers the best of palliative care to terminally ill patients in south west London and Surrey. Medical, nursing and support staff do everything possible to relieve pain and sustain quality of life in an atmosphere of peace and comfort, for patients of all faith or none.

Story

Tracy Earl was diagnosed with cancer in June 2016 and began treatment at The Royal Marsden Hospital almost immediately. After a very invasive procedure and many rounds of chemotherapy, Tracy made a full recovery and returned to work at Lloyd’s in Sutton in March last year. Tracy was so pleased to be getting her life back at work with her colleagues and customers, many of whom became close friends with Tracy having worked at Lloyd’s 35 years.

Unfortunately Tracy’s recovery was short lived as in June, Tracy was advised the cancer had returned and she would be receiving 6 rounds of chemotherapy every 4 weeks. A few weeks into Tracy’s treatment she was given the devastating news that her condition was terminal and the chemotherapy would be stopped. Tracy was given months to live and spent her last months in St Raphael’s Hospice.

The photo of Tracy was taken at St Ives in October just before she was admitted at the hospice.

Tracy has asked to show her appreciation to the charity that have given incredible support to her and her family throughout her illness.
