Pendleside Hospice was a place very close to my Dad's heart. He volunteered for many years and when he was terminaly ill, Pendleside Hospice was where he wanted to spend his final days.
Please help me help this fabulous organisation continue their work.
After the Marathon, it's now Lands End to John Ogroats Cycle.
Land's End to John o' Groats is the traversal of the whole length of the island of Great Britain between two extremities; in the southwest and northeast. The traditional distance by road is 874 miles (1,407 km) and takes most cyclists ten to fourteen days; the record for running the route is nine days.
So that’s what it is described as. Fortunately John(John Phillips, Long time
friend and fellow fool) and I will be doing 1110 Miles and taking 14 days of
cycling to complete. This is the more scenic route, avoiding heavy traffic.
Setting off from John’s house in London on Monday 2nd May, Train to Penzance.
A quick Cycle ride 10 Miles to Lands End Youth Hostel for our overnight stay.
Tuesday 3rd May we set off with bikes and luggage, 65 Miles and
4500Ft of climbing to Fowey, Cornwall. Day 1.
After 6 Days, we should arrive in Burnley for our overnight stay. Setting off North,
Via Edinburgh the next Day.
Wish us Luck.
