Fundraising for PROSTATE CANCER UK
Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am part of a team that is participating in the Football to Amsterdam bike ride fundraising for Prostate Cancer UK. This is a 2 day event which departs Lee Valley Velo Park the morning of 01/06/2018 and will arrive at the Amsterdam Arena 02/06/2018 (Included is a recovery night In Amsterdam!!!). All in all we will be cycling 145 miles. The team and I have pledged to raise £1000 each for this great charity.
In the UK, about 1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer at some point in their lives. In the UK, it's the most common cancer in men. 47,000 men are diagnosed annually - That's 129 men every day. Currently there are over 330,000 men living with and after prostate cancer. This includes one of our team members who is a survivor for over a year now. This is why we are so privileged to be able to do this ride. We have witnessed first hand the support Prostate Cancer UK provided for him and his family.
The sponsorship we raise is to fund research into treatment, provide greater awareness and to provide one to one support to the men and their families.
If you would be able to help, it would ensure that prostate cancer shall never be ignored and that this fantastic charity continue to try and beat it.
