The Way of the Roses cycle ride is a long distance challenge, starting in Morecambe and taking in the historic counties of Lancashire and Yorkshire en route to Bridlington with some 170 miles (274km) along with 2500 metres of ascent, using minor roads, disused railway lines and designated cycle paths along the way.
The route passes through the Forest of Bowland before heading into the Yorkshire Dales, taking in the picturesque villages of Settle and Pateley Bridge and then on through Ripon and York before the final descent into Bridlington three days later.
Freemasons Charity Yorkshire North & East Ridings (170209) are supporting the 45 strong cycling team, backed up a 10 person dedicated support team. All funds raised including gift aid will be distributed equally to Prostrate Cancer UK (1005541) and Jos Cervical Cancer Trust (1133542).
