Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page

My name is Brett, I am 44 years old and work as the General Manager of Anytime Fitness UK and Eire.  In my spare time I enjoy skiing, traveling, fitness and exercise.

MY CHALLENGE: KILIMANJARO

In the last few months, I have set my sights along with Captain Running Man on a new project - Joining our Anytime Fitness franchisees from Shrewsbury and Bexley Heath in their #NishkamChallenge Kilimanjaro trek - climbing the largest freestanding mountain in the world.  This is not an easy challenge and many ‘fit’ people fail - but I am focussed that I am going to complete this challenge because I want to support a very needy project.

The travel and equipment is separate from the donations and will be funded by myself so more of your donations go to the charity. Please donate now.

WHY?

This is the important part - we are trying to save lives of mothers and babies in Kenya.  I was shocked and moved when I found out the horrible truth about conditions in Africa.

That is why I am raising funds for the maternity ward in the Kericho District Hospital in Kenya - and YES, I NEED YOUR SUPPORT.

THE PROBLEM:

Kericho District Hospital is in the heart of the community- it desperately needs new facilities and equipment.  I was shocked to learn that babies and mothers die in this hospital as they do not have proper facilities.

As someone who lives in the UK, on a daily basis, there is so much that I take for granted.  This is why I was shocked to learn about the issues that the Africans have to deal with - even for processes and treatments that we consider routine - babies and mothers die for things that we all take for granted in the UK - We can make a difference.

WHAT AM I DOING ABOUT IT?

As I mentioned, I am committed to climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and am doing LOTS of training to make sure that I successfully complete this challenge. (Captain Running Man on the Other hand is already fit enough)

Previously, I have done some climbing in Switzerland and the Lake district and have also done some treks.  In the coming weeks I am doing MANY more climbs, treks and lots of training.

This page has launched my fundraising campaign - WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT

WHY SUPPORT ME?

The second (and very important) part of the challenge to raise money for this needy cause - I need YOU to support me so that we can make a real difference in Africa.  Please help me raise much needed funds for this project.

I really want do my best to help support this hospital.  You too can also support this fantastic cause.   PLEASE SUPPORT ME and DONATE NOW by hitting the donate button on this page immediately.

There are many ways that you can support this project, just follow the below simple steps - it will just a take a few minutes:
