Story

**LATEST UPDATE TO THIS PAGE, 11-04-10.

DUE TO WORK COMMITTMENTS MARK AND I ARE UNBLE TO COMPETE IN THIS YEARS CANNONBALLRUN EUROPE. WE WILL BE COMPETING IN THE 2011 EVENT INSTEAD. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE GET IN CONTACT AS SOON AS YOU CAN. THANK YOU FOR ALL OF YOUR BRILLIANT DONATIONS TO DATE.

Now why should you donate?? Are you thinking that this would never happen to me or anyone that I know??

I certainly did. And when it did it just hit home how vunerable we ALL are. After the loss of a great friend I went searching for an answer of how and why. Little did I know that I would only scratch the surface of this horrible disease.

I was fortunate to know Julian aka Taff from 1997 whilst we both served in the Royal Air Force at Odiham. During this time he was like any other guy, fit and up for anything where he excelled in rugby, cricket and golf. The time that I spent with Julian either on the pitch or in the bar discussing the highs and lows of games, were some of the best of my career, he was always there for me and everyone else.

Right then. What am I doing? Mark (my brother) and I will be entering the Cannonball Run Europe 2011 (www.cannonballruneurope.co.uk) The aim of this event (NOT a race) will be to travel 3000 miles in 6 days with the winner being closest to averaging 62mph. The chosen vehicle for this will be my 1964 VW Splitscreen (Please see a picture of the van in the photo folder).

PLEASE NOTE THAT 100% OF THE MONEY RAISED WILL BE GOING TO MACMILLAN CANCER SUPPORT.

By way of me doing this makes me (and others) feel that he didn't go without a ripple in the pool of life. I won't profess in trying to change the world for the better however what I am trying to do (and with all of your help) is to generate as much money as possible to help other people who (and lets face facts here) will be effected by this disease.

The fantastic support that Nicola (Julians wife) received during their ordeal will never be forgotten. MACMILLAN CANCER SUPPORT were there for them both on that horrible journey. Even after loss of Julian they are there for Nicola.

Please, please, please spare as much or as little that you can and together we will be able to make a difference.

I will endevour to keep this page updated as often as possible so please tell all of your friends and even the people you haven't seen in a while.
