Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

A number of officers from Brent are taking part in the Lyke Wake Walk, this is a 42 mile hike across the Yorkshire Moors. We are looking to do this in about 12 hours, the challenge was originally set to do it in a day, though I have yet to tell some of the other members!

Initially, we were just doing this for the fun of it, I hear you say "where's the fun"? However, our colleague HTB was recently diagnosed with testicular cancer and is currently undergoing chemotherapy. He is the second colleague is as many years to have been diagnosed with this illness. Fortunately, due to the research and treatment available, the success rate is high and we fully expect him to be there next year crawling along beside us with the promise of a beer tent at the end!

We have decided to raise money for Everyman, which is the charity in aid of male cancers, and have set a target of only £1000 though we all hope that this will be surpassed. If you give just £1 ($1.50) we will easily attain this, however if you could stretch to the price of a beer, we will treble our target and do justice to the continuous research that is done for this indiscriminate illness.
