Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On behalf of the Combat Stress charity we would like to request your support towards enabling our team’s charity fund raising event to take place.
A small but significant number of Veterans leave the Armed Forces with psychological wounds. These can lead to depression, phobias, anxiety, relationship problems and, in some cases, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Combat Stress works with Veterans of the British Armed Forces, and members of the Reserve Forces, through effective treatment and support for mental health problems. Everything that Combat Stress does is free of charge to the Veteran. Their work is made possible through statutory, non-statutory and voluntary fundraising. Combat Stress simply couldn't do what they do without the generosity of the Great British public.
The Regiment has decided to raise awareness, and funds, for this cause through a charity fund raising event. A team of eight soldiers will cycle the distance, and visit, each Territorial Army Centre belonging to our Regiment; they are dispersed across Scotland ranging from the Orkney Islands through to Glasgow and St Andrews – over five hundred miles will be cycled in five days (20-24 May 2012). This will be quite an undertaking both physically and mentally.
For some people on the team, Combat Stress represents a very personal cause. There are participants who have close friends who have suffered psychological wounds from recent operations in Afghanistan and understand the anguish experienced by both victims and their loved ones. It is for this reason that we have decided to raise both awareness and funds for this extremely important, yet often overlooked, cause.
Our team now needs your support to raise funds for Combat Stress and we would be most grateful if you could support our cause through a donation.
Many thanks for your support.
So please dig deep and donate now.
