Story
I’ve decided to attempt something for charity! I had the idea for this challenge whilst watching tv one evening, I saw a map of Lincolnshire and it gave me the idea to cycle the length of Lincolnshire! I knew I wanted to do this challenge for a children's charity, one that looks after terminally Ill children and their families, the thought of losing a child so young and never having the opportunity to grow up and live life breaks my heart. I did some research and chose EACH, they are a fantastic charity that provides all the care needed not only for the children and young people but for the families that have to endure such a terrible time.
£80 can provide counsellors for four hours who are specialist trained in bereavement and helping the families cope during this difficult time.
£40 can provide a band of up to six nurses for two hours to provide expert nursing care to the children and young people including at the end of life.
£23 can can provide a clinical nurse specialist for up to an hour delivering expert nursing and symptom management care to a child or young person.
Any donations no matter how big or small will be greatly appreciated.
Undertaking this challenge with me is my partner Kate, she is getting used to my spontaneous ideas and is also very passionate about raising as much money for EACH as we can. We are undertaking this challenge on the 13th August 2022, we are starting in Cleethorpes and riding to Peterborough, this is going to be a great starter challenge and will give us the confidence to pursue more challenges for charity in the future.
We will keep you posted on all our training leading up to the challenge and whilst doing the challenge.
