Event: London to Brighton, on 11 September 2022
Participants: My lovely son, Tom McKenna
The London to Brighton Cycle is back and we are looking to go bigger than ever. The largest ever number of Team Bowel Cancer UK cyclists are coming together with one aim - a future where nobody dies of bowel cancer.

Story

Bowel Cancer Research is the UK’s leading bowel cancer charity. They fund targeted research, provide expert information and support and they are there to stop people dying of bowel cancer.

My son Tom was diagnosed with advanced bowel cancer in 2020. He has endured three major operations, two cycles of gruelling treatment and an extra spell in hospital with sepsis. He’s now in remission, due to the brilliant work of his oncologist, two surgeons and all of his excellent specialist nurses. Tom wanted to do the London to Brighton ride and I volunteered to accompany him on this 55-mile ride out. Wish us luck and thanks for reading this!
