Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I decided last October, a month after I did the Belfast City Half Marathon, that it would be a good idea to set myself a challenge & attempt to complete the full Marathon.
After a few hours of 'thinking' I decided to 'bite the bullet' and so logged onto the Belfast marathon page and signed myself up!
As I'm sure most of you will be aware this is my first ever marathon! I soon realised it was gonna take a lot of work and time to get the miles up! I've competed in a few 10k road races but I know this is gonna be a whole different ball game!
A lot of time & effort has been put in pounding the roads & increasing my mileage, and there is still a lot more work to be done before its all over!
Not too long ago I would have been breathless running half a mile, but with continuous hard work & dedication, my fitness levels have greatly increased & I quite enjoy a wee 13 mile run here & there!! It's amazing the punishment a body can take and still keep going!
I have decided that my chosen charity is Marie Curie Cancer Care. Cancer is a horrible disease that robs us of so many very special people. I realise that while running 26 miles will be a struggle for me, it will be nothing in comparison to what these people & their families face each & every day, in their fight for survival! I have lost friends & family to this disease & can only hope that they will shine over me & give me strength to finish as I embark on my journey from the starting line
I would therefore very much appreciate it if you would donate some money to this very worthy cause...no matter how small...every little helps!
Many thanks
