Story
Hi everyone,
It's me Brenda!
Towards the end of last year I decided that I wanted to improve my fitness and finally get fit - after years of saying I would! So i thought that cycling would be the ideal thing to try and then I started thinking that it would be a good idea whilst benefitting myself to also benefit a charity at the same time and that's where the idea came from to do a sponsored cycle ride.
The event itself will take place on Sunday 4th February at Oldfield Lane Park, Greenford where Tracey, Greg and I will be cycling continuously for 2 hours, aiming to reach a target of 100 laps regardless of the weather. Bearing in mind that I am not only the oldest out of the three of us but I also hadn't got on a bike since I was a teenager, not until a few weeks ago anyway! This will be an enormous personal challenge for myself and because Ali's Dream is such a wonderful charity that needs as much support and sponsorship as possible, this is what has spurred me on during my tiring gruelling cycle sessions.
For those that don't know Ali's Dream was launched in June 2001 following the tragic loss of Alison Phelan just three weeks before her eighth birthday. Alison's family and friends set up the charity with the objective of raising funds for research into childhood brain tumours.
Brain tumours are now the
biggest cancer killer of UK children
Please help to make a difference and find a cure
So thank you for visiting my fundraising page and I hope you will find it in your hearts to dig as deep as possible and sponsor me online.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Ali's Dream will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support and encouragement - it means a lot to me.
Bright Blessings to You All
Brenda xx
