BRENDA JOHNSON HAS GONE MAD ... and so have Nick & Andy!
Fundraising for Mountbatten Hampshire Ltd
We did it!! The boys loved it, I cannot agree with that, but I'm pleased that I did it. I won't be in a hurry to do it again though!
Thank you all so much for sponsoring us, we have done so well, everybody has been very generous. I'm sure CMHC will be very pleased with the total.
Maybe John, Kate & Sophie next year!
Many thanks again!

I can’t believe I am going to do this……BUT I AM!
For as long as I can remember I have wanted to do something like this, but up to now I have not been brave enough. And the reason for doing it now? To help raise funds for The Countess Mountbatten Hospice Charity (more about CMH later). It has nothing to do with the fact that just two weeks after the jump, I will be celebrating a ‘significant’ birthday! Although the free prescriptions might come in handy if it all goes terribly wrong!!!! The plan is, on Sunday 26th September, we board a small light aircraft, climb to 15000 feet and then jump out! After free falling for about 7000 feet the parachute opens and we make a perfect landing….easy! I say we because at all times I will have a very experienced sky diver strapped to my back, and despite what my husband says, I don’t care how old he is or what he looks like. Just as long as he knows what he is doing will be good enough for me. My son Nick and son-in-law Andy, are jumping with me. You can see both of them hiding behind me in the photograph. So it will be a good day and with your support we will raise lots of money for a very good cause! As some of you will know, my Mum is attending the CMH Day Centre and has spent some time in the inpatient unit there. Countess Mountbatten Hospice Charity provides approximately £1 million in funding every year to support the work of the Countess Mountbatten House Hospice. Although the hospice is managed and mostly funded by the NHS, without the funding from the charity it would not be possible to provide the full services currently given to patients with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses. The hospice helps over 3000 patients every year through the 25 bed inpatient unit, the day care centre, and many other services, including palliative care nurses. The support given is medical, practical and emotional - ensuring the needs of patients are met and the quality of their life is maintained and enhanced wherever possible. As well as looking after the needs of patients, support is also given to their families throughout illness and bereavement. By sponsoring us now, you will be helping the charity to continue supporting Countess Mountbatten House both now and in the future.* Charities pay a small fee for our service. Find out how much it is and what we do for it.
