Participants: As the co chair of The Halifax Chapter, Anita MacDonnell, and Brenda Conway are hoping to make this an annual event in Halifax. Please help us make this first walk successful by coming out and walking, fundraising, and supporting this event.
The Walk to END PKD signifies a group united in spirit, moving towards treatment options and a cure for PKD, one of the most common life-threatening genetic diseases affecting thousands in Canada. A cure is our finish line!

Story

You can help me make an incredible impact in raising awareness and funds for critical PKD research! By making a personal donation your efforts will help strengthen the direct funding of the PKD Foundation of Canada's mission to promote programs of research, advocacy, education, support and awareness in order to discover treatments and cure for PKD and improve the lives of all it affects!

Polycystic Kidney Disease runs in my family - 3 out of 4 of us have the disease.  My mother received a transplant from her sister in 1972 and she is now in her 90's.  My brother received a transplant after 8 years on dialysis, and he is doing well today.  In November 2021 I received a life saving organ , after being on dialysis for 3 years.  Many people are not aware of this disease , even though it is fairly common, and can wipe out entire families.  It is important to me that the Halifax Chapter raises awareness of the disease, promotes research and education, and is a support system for those who suffer with PKD.

Thank you , Brenda
