Story
Dear friends and family, thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
In support of Spread A Smile we will be running the Royal Parks Half Marathon taking place October 10th, starting and finishing in Hyde park.
Our team at Bregal Milestone are extremely excited to support this charity, and we would be very grateful for your support to this important cause, as we seek to help children afflicted with these illnesses and their families. We sincerely hope for and would value any contributions to help Spread A Smile continue their important work.
There are currently 86,000 children in England living with a life-limiting or life-threatening illness.
At Spread a Smile, we believe that play and entertainment in hospital is crucial in helping seriously ill children cope effectively with their illness and hospitalisation.
Our bedside visits, delivered by teams of professional magicians, fairies, singers and face-painters, reduce anxiety, build confidence and self-esteem and provide a distraction from difficult treatment and painful procedures, bringing much needed smiles and laughter to the most difficult of circumstances.
We partner with NHS hospitals to enhance their play provision and provide support which would otherwise not be available.
From the moment of diagnosis Spread a Smile has a direct impact on the wellbeing of critically ill children.
Our holistic, family-first approach means that parents and siblings are not forgotten during these difficult times. We support the entire family through all stages of a child’s illness and treatment, taking the pressure off parents and carers by bringing smiles and laughter and helping to create positive memories and rare moments of joy.
