Story

This August we will be raising money for the Alzheimers Society by joining a 13 mile hike in the Peak District. For those of you who know us well, you’ll know this is not too much of a chore (hopefully) … a walk through glorious countryside with our friend Emma and her daughter. What’s not to like?
But here is a serious side to this. Alzheimers is an awful, pernicious disease that steals the very essence of a person. It breaks the connections in our brains, progressively reducing our ability to think, to reason, to remember. And eventually taking away our ability to speak.
The Alzheimers Society works ceaselessly to raise money to finding ways of preventing this. But more importantly, it provides much needed support and advice to those who have been struck down by the disease as well as the families and friends who left to care.
We appreciate that there have been many requests for sponsorship recently, but any support you can give us, no matter how small, will be appreciated and will all go to a great cause.

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
