Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

About us

I'm Gary Johannes. A year from now (Oct 2010), my son and I are going to cycle over 600km across Vietnam in an attempt to raise £10,000 for Stoke Mandeville Spinal Unit children’s ward.

(All money raised will go directly to the children's ward - ward code 2031)

Why?

When Christopher was 15, an accident left him paralysed from the mid-chest area down. Stoke Mandeville Spinal Unit children’s ward helped him defy the expectations of the specialists and he is now walking again. To cycle across Vietnam is the biggest challenge I could find to honour the efforts Christopher and the spinal unit put in.

Read our blog! http://brave-spinal-injuries.blogspot.com/2009/10/christophers-story-how-i-broke-my-back.html  Chris has wriiten his story in his own words and it's truely inspiring.... a must read.
