Story

Thank you for supporting my TCS London Marathon journey with the British Heart Foundation.

Why I'm running the London Marathon

Ours is a happy story unlike many other families!

Bertie our youngest was born early due to continued irregular heart beat and rates that raced into the mid 200s and then dropped to almost no beat at all which started affecting both baby and mother so the decision was to bring her into the world sooner. Her heart struggled for months and we had some very scary moments with one episode seeing us ending up back in hospital as they fought to stabilise her and get her heart regular. Seeing her with 8 plus doctors and nurses working on her with loads of cables etc was traumatic.( pic 2 on gallery )

We were lucky and the NHS staff at West Middlesex and Brompton hospital were brilliant and therefore any aid that can contribute towards supporting the front line doctors in heart research and support is a worthy cause for me.

With your donations, I am raising money for one of the most exciting fields of research - regenerative medicine. We're aiming to fund breakthroughs and find cutting edge new treatments for people living with heart disease. The race is on to heal hearts together. Donations to my page will be sent directly to the British Heart Foundation in a fast and secure way.
