Story

Hello All,

Simply put, I'm a country boy. Growing up in South Texas, I was taught at a young age to have a great sense of responsibility, to take what situations and problems that are at hand as my own.

Compassion, determination, and faithful foundations are what brought me to WIN Ministries. I got involved through my friends who work there, because of seeing the enormous impact the ministry is having across the world. Their work inspired me with a desire for action.

Four years ago, I was moving boxes out of the garage of our new home. I was struggling with doubt and a lack of purpose. Wandering throughout my mind, I was brought to my ultimatum prayer, “God, if you exist, let yourself be known to me.” As I was throwing away a pile of papers, the Holy Spirit convicted me not to trash one piece of paper but to look and read. “Read it,” as a wave of warmth covered me.

Unbeknownst to me, God answered more than what I bargained for. It read, “Do not be anxious about anything because God takes care of even the sparrows, and He loves you so much more than them.” It pulled from Matthew 6:25-34. While I cried my eyes out, I made a promise to give all of myself to God forever. This was the start of me noticing the powerful movement that the Holy Spirit was making, training and empowering pastors and believers, across the world with WIN Ministries.

Kakuma Refugee Camp was established in 1992 near Kenya's border with South Sudan. It was a place of refuge for unaccompanied minors fleeing warring factions in what was then southern Sudan. Today, Kakuma Refugee Camp has more than 225,000 refugees from nine countries including South Sudan, Sudan, Somalia, Rwanda and Burundi. It is estimated that more than 50 percent of refugees are youth and children (ReliefWeb, 2022).

Right now there are 50 refugees who strongly desire to take the ministry and community development courses offered in the camp by Nation-2-Nation Christian University. All they need is $10 each to cover the costs of the books that accompany the semester one program. $10 worth of notebooks for each of the 50 students will reach our $500 goal.

In the past, attending a school like this seemed to be an impossible dream. But now, the opportunity is there. With this training, their desire is to return to their countries, and reach into their communities, and rebuild what was destroyed by civil war and strife. They have a God-given vision to transform thousands of lives, reach the people for Christ, and use the community development training to lead their people out of poverty and disease.

So let us achieve this together! With the desire in our hearts for change, any donation amount, to the goal of $500, will be helpful, and also sharing this worthy project in social media, e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc, will make a real difference. Thank you so much for your passion!

God bless,

Braedon
