We provide help and hope to everyone living with dementia.

Story

On the amended date of 3rd October 2021 (my birthday!)  I will be taking on the ultimate challenge of running 26.2 miles in the London Marathon. My aim is to raise much-needed funds for the Alzheimer's Society. Alzheimer's Society is the only UK charity that campaigns for change, funds research to find a cure, and supports people living with dementia today.

Both my parents suffered from this terrible disease, and from my own personal experience, I can tell you that there is nothing tougher than watching a loved one being slowly taken away from you. They may look the same but over time they change from someone who is intelligent, independent, and who everyone looked up to for love, help and advice to someone who can no longer remember what they did 5 minutes ago and who can no longer recognise their nearest and dearest.

Most of us will know someone who is suffering or has suffered from dementia and we live in hope that a cure can be found.  And until then the Alzheimer's Society offers invaluable help and support to families with a loved one who is suffering from the disease.

If you could support me in my attempt to raise £1000 (or more!) it would mean so much to me.

Thank you for taking the time to read my page. Please donate to this fantastic cause! I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
