In May 2010 my sister was cared for by Myton Hospice in Warwick, as she battled with terminal cancer. The frequent family visits had us all saying how the people there are so wonderful, and that the work they do there is amazing. What’s even more amazing is that they are run entirely on donations and it costs in the region of £10,000 a day to run the hospice. This made me decide it was time to pull my finger out and try to do something to support them…..so here I am.

Despite 3 major knee operations in 2010 I have foolishly signed up for a 12 day, 1000 mile bike ride from Land's End to John O'Groats. I'm riding with 6 mates from work and home - find out more at www.themountaingoats.co.uk. Let's look at the facts - I'm mentally weak and physically my body is a mess. I am without doubt the most likely to lead the way from the back of the pack, assuming I can actually ride the bike I bought 6 months ago and haven't yet touched (today's Xmas eve 2010!)....but I am hoping to be able to train hard and get this done, raising as much money as possible for a charity that's very close to my heart.
