Story
In February, I’ll be running the Leeds Winter 10k as the first official event for Champion Ted, and I couldn’t think of a better cause to start with than Barnsley Hospice.
Barnsley Hospice has been a cornerstone of care and compassion in Barnsley, offering invaluable support to families facing the hardest moments of their lives. They provide not just expert medical care, but also emotional and practical support for patients and their loved ones—a kind of care that stays with you long after the moment has passed.
As always, this run is personal. It’s about honoring the legacy of my mum, who taught me how important it is to face illness with openness and love, and supporting the places that make those values a reality for others. Champion Ted was created to help families navigate illness together, and Barnsley Hospice embodies everything I hope to achieve—support, understanding, and compassion.
Every step I take on this run is for the families they support, the care they provide, and the love that fills their halls. If you’re able, please consider donating to this incredible cause. Together, we can ensure that Barnsley Hospice continues to be there for the people who need them most.
And, as always, thank you for your kindness and support—it means the world to me.
