Story
Nope, I really am no runner. In fact I tend to make a bit of a fuss of how much I don’t run – give me a bike, a hike, a pool any day.
This is my second Ox Half Marathon – the first I foolishly did with zero training, but turns out I’ve been training stubborn my whole life and I made it to the end all the same.
This time, I’m running for a cause as close to my heart as it is to my mind, mental health. Endorphins have been a big part of helping me look after my own mental health when its needed some extra care, so even if this isn’t my discipline of choice it feels fitting for the fundraising to be fuelled by it all the same.
Restore is right here in Oxford. Even better they also have a café and a therapeutic garden just off Cowley Road to support their service users.(Caffeine and anything that photosynthesises being two loves of mine even if running isn’t.)
So help me help them. And who knows, I might even enjoy the run stuff. Maybe. But one thing’s for sure, your donations will take me to the finish line.
