3 Peaks Challenge Complete - 21hours 42minutes
On Saturday 19th June, we set off from the bottom of Ben Nevis at 1.50pm on Saturday afternoon and ran (oh yes it was painful) through the finish line at the bottom of Snowdon at 1.35pm on Sunday. Our overall time was therefore 23hrs and 45minutes. Because of the nature of the event we spent some time waiting on other teams at the bottom of each mountain before the bus was full to travel to the next therefore the sailor's society have given us a completion time of 21hrs 42minutes. This was based on a total of 10hrs travelling time, 5hrs to complete Ben Nevis (Scotland), 2hr 59mins to complete Helvellyn (England) and 3hrs 43 mins to complete Snowdon (Wales).
Our fundraising target set by the Sailor's Society was £5000, we set ourselves a target of £6000 however to date we have successfully raised just over £8000. To all those who sponsored us, a massive thank you. Your donation was gratefully appreciated and every penny you donated was matched by BP to help us reach our tremendous total. We couldn't have done this without your generosity and it certainly helped to motivate us up those mountains at the weekend.
Once again thanks for your support and if you ever get the chance - do it, the pain is extreme but the views are fantastic.
Best regards,
Graham, Jonathan and Iain
