Story

Thanks for visiting my page. I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation, and I'd be so grateful for your support.
Sadly, everyday hundreds of people lose their lives due to heart related ailments, often unexpectedly, leaving those left behind devastated emotionally, and financially, if the deceased was the sole breadwinner. BHF is a cardiovascular research charity in the United Kingdom. It funds medical research related to heart and circulatory diseases and their risk factors, and runs influencing work aimed at shaping public policy and raising awareness. More support from people like you will help BHF sustain and fund new research work that can create new treatments and discover new cures.

I highly recommend visiting British Heart Foundation's website, https://www.bhf.org.uk where you can see how it is helping in all matters related to a heart particularly https://www.bhf.org.uk/informationsupport/risk-factors and go through the various risk factors that you or your dear ones may be prone to, to avert any untimely deaths.

I have seen first-hand few of my dear ones die of heart attack, suffer from heart conditions at a young age - a phone call that I delayed making that day, never could be made - my life lesson. Heart attacks are cruel and sudden. While all deaths are painful, sudden deaths are excruciatingly painful and leave you with a lot of questions un-answered and emotions unsupported. I belong to the Asian Indian ethnic group whose food habits and poor exercise regime make them vulnerable to diabetes (a big risk factor for heart ailments) and heart conditions. Was fortunate enough to be encouraged by a friend to consider participating in parkruns which brought about a turnaround in my general health. While parkrun was a dream (I did my first 5K when I turned 50), it dared me to dream to run a Marathon. On a social chat one person asked why anyone would do a Marathon unless they are crazy. While running a Marathon still seems crazy to me, raising awareness for a Charity was a great reason to attempt this crazy feat. I applied for the charities I care for which included British Heart Foundation, Alzheimer's Society, GOSH and Young Lives vs. Cancer. I do hope to run for each of these some other time. BHF gave me the opportunity to run this time and I am happy that I am able to contribute towards the pioneering research British Heart Foundation is doing.

Thank you
