Story
We did it again! (And at 12 hours 35 minutes, a whole ten minutes quicker than last year.) See the photos on Flickr here:http://tempuri.org/tempuri.html
We made it around the 30-ish miles (a marathon and a bit) and 10,000 feet of ascent (one third of an Everest and a bit) of the Parish boundary of Patterdale in the Lake District. The walk is an annual event to raise funds for the local school and church (more information on their website here: http://tempuri.org/tempuri.html)
Due to our increasingly busy lives, we didn't know if we were even going to get to the event this year, but we did, had a cracking time, and now we'd like to do some post-dated* fund raising for a local community in a part of the world we both enjoy visiting as often as we can.
Like last year (see: http://tempuri.org/tempuri.html), we'll be making a decent donation ourselves, but if you would like to contribute in recognition of our efforts we'd be really chuffed.
* Ignore the event date thingy on this page. JustGiving's web tools aren't compatible with our innovative retro-active fund raising methods...
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
