I have created this page in memory of a good friend and colleague, Steve Gransden, who passed away in October last year - far too soon. As many of us know cancer touches so many families and tragically Steve was struck with leukaemia and passed just a few short weeks after diagnosis.
Steve was a great guy who had a smile for everyone and made everyone smile. He was such a big character and is deeply missed both in the office and on the East Stand Upper at the Brighton and Hove Albion Stadium, The Amex! I met Steve at American Express in 2005 and we worked together closely since then. Steve was such a positive person and never let anything get him down, remaining happy and welcoming at all times. He was determined to beat his illness but sadly it was not to be.
In September I shall be embarking on my latest cycling challenge with my two pals, Ian and Alex. We shall be flying on a one way ticket to Bordeaux, France.  The challenge then begins over the next 7 days on the 522 mile journey home back to Hove. Cycling unsupported, we will be totally self sufficient for the whole journey. We will be pulling bike trailers which will hold our tents, cooking equipment and all other essentials. The tailer and load weighs 2 stone alone!
Ian, Alex and I have not previously used these challenges for fund raising.  But in Steve's memory, I would like to take this opportunity to raise funds for a charity Steve's wife Caroline, suggested. Caroline has been incredible since Steve's passing and I enjoy seeing her at the Brighton games with their young children, Frank and Charity - taking his kids to the Albion is something I know Steve enjoyed. Caroline's family has experienced too much grief at the hands of this dreadful disease in recent times and, when I asked, her preference in charity was Cancer Research UK.
Please feel free to give as much or as little as you wish - one day cancer will be beaten. However, until then too many people are suffering at the hands of it and this is my way of helping to beat it.
