Story
In 2021 team Booths raised over £100,000 for Cure Leukaemia which came from collections in stores and sites, raffles, football tournaments and rounders competitions. The main activities however were the Tour O' Booths (a 5 day cycle ride around Booths Country visiting all 30 stores and sites) plus a campaign to sell a range of products in stores with donations built in to the product price. This was all centred around Booths C.O.O., Nigel Murray, riding the full Tour de France route over 21 days in June & July as part of the charity's Tour '21 initiative.
Well !! we are at it again !! Our C.O.O. will ride London to Paris in June over 4 days and on the 1st of July, Booths will host the main fundraiser which will also celebrate the 175th anniversary of the Booths business, founded in 1847. The 1st July event will be comprised of:-
- a 175 km bike ride around Booths Country
- 17.5 km 'Le Jog' (run/walk/jog) from Booths Riversway Manufacturing to the central office, in Preston
- a gym bike relay to promote and active lifestyle and inclusivity
- a BBQ celebration (with pre-requisite Booths raffle for colleagues and participants) in conjunction with Cure Leukaemia's Cook for a Cure campaign.
We are proud to be a fundraising partner for the Tour '21 (2022 edition) this year and our stores will be collecting for the charity from the end of June and throughout July).
Thank you for your support and any contribution you can afford.
Team Booths
Cure Leukaemia helps blood cancer patients to access pioneering drug and transplant treatments by funding a network of specialist research nurses across the UK. Without these nurses, to ensure patients are monitored and cared for, clinical trials of these new treatments would not run and patients, that have exhausted standard treatment options, would miss out on potentially lifesaving therapies. Every penny raised for Cure Leukaemia helps save lives and also hastens global progress towards the eradication of all forms of blood cancer.
