Story
In January 2020 I had a haircut, then the pandemic hit and haircuts weren't really on my mind. Lots of people were cutting their hair at home, but that wasn't for me, so I vowed to grow my hair until it was long enough to donate to help The Little Princess Trust provide a real hair wig to a child.
Three years have passed and my hair almost reaches my bum. It's time to get that haircut. The fact covid recovery means I'm unable to continue with any attempt to get you to sponsor me to run a marathon is also spurring me on: this is an alternative way for me to be able to do something to help others.
This is where you come in. While I know my hair is now too long for me to manage, I've also come to quite like having long hair, so I need some sponsorship to help me with my resolve. The charity asks for a minimum of 12 good quality inches of hair. As you can see from the photo, my hair is pretty long, but the bottom isn't necessarily in the best condition: I don't know how short I'll have to go to be able to give that required 12 inches, but I am determined to donate that as a minimum, no matter how short I have to go...
It costs £550 to make a wig, and another £150 to fit the wig to the child.
My haircut will take place on the afternoon of Saturday, 25th February, 2023, at The Gallery in Southborough.
