Hi, I'm Lora. I'm a high school English teacher, voracious reader, and an experienced book matchmaker. I live to share my love of reading with others and very little in this world brings me more joy than hearing that someone liked a book I picked out for them.

I am also extremely passionate about women's reproductive health, particularly those issues that are still shrouded in mystery. Prematurity is one such issue. 

Did you know that every year, more than 15 million babies worldwide are born too soon? Prematurity is the leading cause of death in children under 5 and can cause life-altering complications in those who do survive. Shockingly, in nearly half of the cases, the causes are unexplained, and there have been no new treatments to prevent preterm birth in the last 50 years. Borne, a medical research charity that conducts crucial research into understanding and preventing premature birth, is working to change that - and you can help.

For this fundraiser, I'm creating bespoke recommendations lists customized to the reader’s interests and preferences. Simply fill out this questionnaire about your reading preferences or those of the person you're shopping for. You’ll be asked if you'd like Option 1 (a recommendations list, totally FREE, though if the spirit of generosity moves you, a donation of any amount to Borne would be a lovely ‘thank you’) or Option 2, which also includes a Blind Date with a Book. For a donation of at least $25 to Borne, you’ll receive both your individualized recommendations list AND a surprise book hand-picked by me that is not on your list.
