On April 17th 2011, I celebrated my 5th anniversary of calling London my home by running 26.2 miles through some of my favourite places in this amazing city, thanks to a ballot entry in the Virgin London Marathon. I hope to use this opportunity to raise funds for Deafness Research UK , a charity close to  my heart.

Few of you may realise that I suffered from mild hearing loss from a young age (ie I am unable to hear very high frequencies), so understanding issues that causes deafness has been of importance to me. I love playing and listening to music and would like to continue to do that for the rest of my life, and organisations such as Deafness Research UK are committed to finding major scientific breakthroughs which are transforming the lives of millions of people that have been affected by hearing impairment.
