Story
The most inspirational person in Tom's life has always been his Mum, despite having suffered from Multiple Sclerosis since before Tom was born. MS is an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body.
The MS society aims to better the lives of the 100,000 people diagnosed with MS in the UK. We know right now that almost one in three people with MS who have the highest needs aren’t getting the most basic care. So a vague commitment from the Government to “work to improve the system” doesn't match the urgency of the crisis. We need a system that makes sense for our MS community. The Government must listen to people with MS so we can get the care and support we desperately need; this is something the MS society are committed to delivering.
Bolivia is home to a wondrous plethora of global landmarks, national parks & beautiful scenery. There are numerous treks that best enable the exploration of Bolivia's natural beauty, whilst also providing incredibly difficult, sometimes dangerous, physical challenges. Tom and Daisy have sought out the most challenging of these treks and will be putting their physical fitness to the test throughout their time travelling across Bolivia. The most notable landmarks include the Laguna Glaciar, Yungas Road and Maragua Crater. We aim to put our physical fitness to the test, by exploring such places in the most difficult ways possible, whether that be trekking, cycling or canoeing, without a guide (where possible).
Although the proposed challenge will be sure to fill us with a sense of personal achievement, it wouldn't be right to do it without a valuable cause at the forefront of our mission. The fight against MS is one that is close to both our hearts, so please donate as little or as much money as you can, to help towards overcoming the many difficulties those with MS face. All proceeds will be directly donated to the MS society.
