Story
The elite Queen's Gurkhas Signals Regiment began the 100km challenge in 1981 in Hong Kong as a military training exercise. Since Oxfam's involvement in 1986, the event has grown into a world renowned team endurance challenge across 12 countries. Trailwalker UK was started in 1996, and is the only event in the world that is still organised by the Gurkhas: each year elite Gurkha teams compete in the event for the prestigious winning place, and the current course record of 9 hrs 50 mins is held by the Gurkhas, who to date have never been beaten.....
This year, they have their work cut out for them, as they'll be up against The Bold and The Beautiful, a little-known pub quiz team from Paddington. Armed with extensive general knowledge and a lifelong training regime based around trips to the bar, this intrepid team will be taking on the challenge of walking 100kms in under 30 hours. What could possibly go wrong?
It's all for a good cause - donations go to Oxfam to support their work fighting poverty in 94 countries, so please feel free to support us.
