Step 2 complete. The C2C had its ups and downs but we all managed to finish it with only scrapes, broken cogs, burst tubes, popped spokes and bunions...Next and finally, swimming a mile.

Well folks, step one finished! Managed to get a time of 3 hrs 54 mins. When I arrived I started to realise it wasn't going to be a 'normal' marathon. They handed me a map and a set of instructions. And with approximately 150 runners, there was very little of 'follow the leader'. The first few miles everything was going smoothly, even hit a few 7 minute milers, but then I was up in the hills, along grass corridors and my trainers sinking into deep muddy tracks. By the time I finished my trainers and legs were covered in mud. Loved the whole experience and would do it again.....foolishly. Next wknd is the C2C.

It's been along time and I guess you're wondering where the boys have gone! Don't worry it's still all go! Injures and economy to blame! Things have changed slightly. Jay's doing the swim (as planned), the marathon and as an added bonus (as an apology for the delay) the C2C. Jay takes part in the Stevenage marathon on the 15th of July, and the C2C on the 21st of July. By all accounts the running's going swimmingly. And the swimmings going runningly??? Pictures will be posted and I'll keep you updated during July. Thanks for bearing with us!
We’re raising the funds to buy hospital equipment for Furness General Hospital (Burrow-in-Furness).
Without the skilled help from the nurses and doctors of the FGH, Vicky Harvison (a close friend and relative) would not be still here to bring up her three beautiful children.
THE PLAN!
Mr. Jason Dillon will swim one mile in open water.
Mr. Philip Madden will complete a full marathon course.
A BIT MORE DETAIL…
Mr. Jason Dillon cannot swim to any great level and looks like he is trying to have a drunken fight with the water without actually going anywhere.
Mr. Philip Madden hates running, it hurts and he takes no pleasure from it whatsoever and normally stops and goes for a swim after 1/2 mile.
THE HISTORY.
As happy youthful individuals Mr. Dillon ran and Mr. Madden swam and with a little training could perform each other’s task with relative ease.
THEREFORE,
Its going to hurt A LOT, and Jay might drown!!
So if you know either or both (or what the hell) neither of us we hope in the build up to the challenge in the next few months you can give us your support (were gonna need it)!
