We are pleased to announce that on the 6th of January 2023 we will be taking part in our 399th Bodmin Wassail and hopefully returning to our pre Covid custom of house calls, singing in the town and wishing the people of Bodmin a year of good health.

Revd Elaine Munday is a
Pioneer Minister of St Petroc’s Church in Bodmin and started this mission during Covid, in March 2020 with her husband Joseph and an ever-growing team of volunteers.

The team have been working together to provide food, toiletries, and household hygiene items, plus many other basic needs to the local community in a variety of creative ways.

Many individuals, couples and families have been challenged with such high essential living costs, struggling with difficulties that they have never experienced before and are now finding themselves at crisis point.

This community initiative offers hope and support to the often-hidden people in our neighborhoods who are desperate for help, that can be given in a safe and non-judgmental way.

Thankfully we have also been able to offer this help through schools and members of our community that also have direct access to those in critical need.

Revd Elaine said. “Many of the people we support have, jobs, rents, or mortgages to pay, but they just can’t make ends meet. With ‘Ourgate’ they can walk past our home and collect what they need, or they can contact me privately on ‘Revd Elaine’ Facebook Messenger to see if we are able to help. With the complex needs in our society it is just vital to offer a friendly ear that shows that someone cares and that they matter.
