Story

I'm supporting Rory's Miles 2 Mayo by taking on my own challenge. This September, former Ireland Rugby Captain, Rory Best will be taking on a mammoth 10 day challenge to help children across Ireland cope with the impact of a cancer diagnosis. To mark Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, Rory will be shining a light on the experiences of children and young people by walking a mile in their shoes or in this case, walking an epic 180 miles from Daisy Lodge in Co. Down to Cancer Fund for Childrens new short break centre in Co. Mayo. Rorys ambitious trek will see him walk through a number of counties including his home county of Armagh as well as Monaghan, Cavan, Leitrim, Galway to name a few. Rory is passionate about raising funds for Cancer Fund for Children who offer support to children across Ireland and aims to raise an amazing 500,000 but needs your help!

Each class in our school will be completing their own 180 challenge during the week beginning 27th September. More details to follow!

About the charity

Cancer Fund for Children supports children diagnosed with cancer and their families by offering practical and emotional support including nurturing breaks. We are currently launching a Capital Appeal to build our second Daisy Lodge in Cong, Co. Mayo which will ensure that no family in Ireland faces cancer alone.
