Please now donate via www.bobwillisfund.org to raise funds for a Prostate Cancer UK research project into a quicker and more accurate diagnosis. Thank you.
My husband, Bob Willis, the former England cricket captain, died in December 2019 aged just 70 after a 4 year battle with prostate cancer.
I know only too well the impact that prostate cancer has, not only on the men who get it, but the people they leave behind. It's now the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the UK and improvements need to be made in the testing and diagnosis process. The PSA blood test can be a useful indicator for a lot of men, but it wasn't accurate enough for Bob. We clearly need a better test to determine the severity of the disease much quicker. There is no time to waste. I'm supporting Prostate Cancer UK's campaign to find treatments and tests that will help men like Bob in the future.
