Story
In February 2019, Bob developed a very rare autoimmune disease called Bullous Pemphigoid. This painful condition causes large, fluid filled blisters which can cause complications such as sepsis.
The dermatology team at Poole NHS hospital worked tirelessly to help Bob overcome the disease and keep it under control. So this is a cause that is very personal and close to their hearts.
Bob and Sue, now in their seventies, have been enthusiastic tandem riders for many years. Since reaching retirement, they spend as much time as they can planning and training for their next challenges.
Their next adventure covers more than 2,000 kilometres, from Land's End to John O'Groats, with only each other for company. They will be pedalling along cycle friendly routes over trails and quiet roads, using the Sustrans National Cycle Network.
The journey will take in sights from the English and Scottish countryside as well as towns, cities and villages. For those who wish to keep track of how Bob and Sue are progressing, there will be regular updates on their Facebook page at www.Facebook.com/BobandSue.
